R.E.M.

Capstone Project

(November 2023 - January 2024)

R.E.M. is a first-person, momentum-based movement shooter developed entirely in Unreal Engine 5 in which the player fights a series of unique, phobia-based boss monsters in order to escape their comatose state. Along the way, the player will gain various abilities and firearms to grow strong and accomplish this goal.

This is a fast-paced game, and the player should feel a constant sense of urgency to continue pressing on, while doing everything in their power to use all abilities in their disposal to survive.

Abilities mentioned include wall running, bunny hopping, grappling, sliding/slide cancel movement, rocket/grenade jumping, shooting black hole objects which absorb all objects over a period of time and time reversal to the player’s last known position five seconds prior.

A typical play session, one in which the player fights five bosses, should last around twenty to thirty minutes.
